Bong Joon-ho’s film “Parasite” won the Golden Globe prize for best foreign-language film on Jan. 5, becoming the first South Korean film to win a Golden Globe. “Once you overcome the 1-inch-tall barrier of subtitles, you will be introduced to so many more amazing films,” Bong said during his acceptance speech, which was mostly in Korean. “Parasite” made its global debut in May 2019 at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the Palme d’Or. It has since grossed more than US$128 million worldwide. The photo shows three members of the film’s cast (from left to right) at the awards ceremony: Lee Jeong-eun, Cho Yeo-jeong, and Song Kang-ho.
