Participants cut the ribbon at the opening ceremony for the Duru Small Cinema in Cheorwon County, Gangwon Province, Nov. 17. It was the first opening of a movie since the closing at the Joongang Theater in 1990. The small cinema was founded with 1.7 billion won ($US1.43 million) in government funding and donations. The name Duru comes from the sound made by cranes that live in the area. (provided by Cheorwon County)
