South Korea has around 30,000 dolmen, heavy rocks mounted at ancient burial sites for tribal leaders. Dolmen are scattered around the country, but the three main sites are Ganghwa Island in Incheon, Hwasun in South Jeolla Province and Gochang in North Jeolla Province.
The top stone in this dolmen in Ganghwa weighs nearly 11 tonnes, roughly the weight of a full-sized city bus. It is 6.4 meters long, 5.2 meters wide and 1.3 meters thick. There are 70 dolmens in Ganghwa.
